Saddle up at the main ranch stables at 2 PM and head up Sulzer gulch, over Prince O'Wales Hill, into the Dry Creek drainage and finally up Cedar Creek to Cow Camp!  The trail retraces the route taken by the famous English author and traveler, Isabella Bird, during her attempt to reach Estes Park from Sylvan Dale in September 1873.

Cow Camp is an historic rustic-log homestead with outbuildings built in the late 1800s.  Nestled in the aspen trees along a remote section of Cedar Creek, we will chow-down on a juicy steak cooked over the open fire.  Then gather round the campfire for s'mores, cowboy singin', and tall tales.  We bed down for a resful sleep under the stars.  Guests awake to the smell of fresh cowboy coffee, and bacon sizzling.  After a hearty breakfast we return down the trail and arrive back a the stables around 11 AM.

The Cow Camp adventure is a real highlight - a true Old West experience (no electricity, no plumbing) - just the open air, mountain stillness and starlight.  The perfect way to get to know your friends, family, and co-workers in a whole new light!

You must be at least 12 years old for this ride, and must demonstrate sufficient horsemanship skills to qualify for the trip.  Figure about 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours up and back.  Long pants, a good hat, and boots with heels are essential for your comfort and safety.  Feel free to bring personal items - toothbrush, sunscreen, extra pair of socks, a sweatshirt or light jacket for the cool evening and early morning hours.  Although the dry climate limites the number of mosquitoes, deet insect repellent is recommended.

We furnish the rest: food, canteens, sleeping pads and bags and all the supplies for the outhouse!
