The Reverence and Relevance of Elders: Lessons from Indigenous Cultures
In many indigenous cultures, the term "Elder" is not merely a descriptor of age but a title imbued with deep respect and reverence. These cultures understand that Elders are the keepers of wisdom, tradition, and cultural continuity. In contemporary society, where rapid technological advancements and shifting social norms often overshadow traditional values, reviving the respect for Elders could offer invaluable benefits. In our time together, we will explore the essence of being an Elder, the advantages of harvesting wisdom, and practical ways in which Elders can contribute to modern life. In this communal space, we will share the wisdom we carry, our life experiences, and support each other in our life journeys.
This Elder retreat includes your lodging, all meals, a daily horse activity, and experiential learning for exploring what it means to be a Wise Elder and Wisdom Keeper.
This experience is limited to 12 Men and Women, 50 years and greater - You’re further along on the road now. What are your gifts, wisdom gained, and life experiences you can share with younger generations?
